Think Pink Bahrain

Think Pink: Bahrain Breast Cancer Society, is a non-profit organisation founded by Dr. Julie Sprakel in 2004 which has become a household name within the Kingdom. Over the years, funds raised have been directed towards several areas that would support the Kingdom in the fight against breast cancer, namely: Awareness, Education, and Research.

The core principle of Think Pink Bahrain’s philosophy is education which is the first step toward prevention. The society ensures that the information provided is within the National Breast Cancer Guidelines via the first free mobile application – iCheck Think Pink, which is available in English and Arabic.

The mobile application launched in 2016 is armed with literature, evidence and research allows feedback to support individuals in the community. As part of the recent updates, the inclusion of Decision Aids being added to the FAQ with a link will enable users to download and share the documents as a resource to the personnel required.

The need of the hour is to be mindful and not just be proactive during the month of October. One can click on the below links and download the iCheck App.

Think Pink has also introduced the #DinarforDistance (D4D) initiative, where individuals can support the cause by wearing a ribbon to raise awareness while exercising. The inability to exercise during the last two years due to the pandemic has affected the health of individuals and hence should be taken seriously. The D4D initiative is a quarantine-birthed challenge that falls in line with health and fitness advocacy and is a pledge to individuals and the community. #howfarforpink is what individuals will be willing to take on this October, for Think Pink Bahrain.

Here is how you can register:

Each individual participating in D4D will need to register via www.thinkpinkbahrain.com.

The donations will support Think Pink, but the overriding aim is movement and health- as this plays into our general health and supports the reduction of NCID’s such as breast cancer. At the end of the campaign, the Charity will announce the total distance pledged during October and the total donations received from registration and pledge sponsorships.

Challenge yourself, Get Up and Prepare Yourself to lead a healthier lifestyle.

Whether it be every day or every second, the challenge is your distance.
